Thousands of gallons of aviation fuel have spilled underground, and crews are working to clean it up, officials told NBC10. The hazmat situation was reported at East 4th (River Road) near Coates Street at around 3:30 p.m. At around 5 p.m., Bridgeport officials clarified that most nearby residents are being asked to shelter-in-place, but some may be evacuated out of an abundance of caution.
